Saved to Serve Program

From Rescue to Mission:
The Journey of a Future Service Dog
Step 1: Rescue and Evaluation
Once a shelter dog is rescued, whether through our A Bridge to Home Program or another trusted source, they undergo a thorough evaluation of temperament, health, and behavior. If the dog demonstrates the right disposition and potential, they begin their journey with basic obedience training.
Step 2: Entering the Saved to Serve Program
After successfully completing foundational training, and once it’s determined they have what it takes to serve, the dog enters our Saved to Serve Program.
Here, they receive specialized, regimented training focused on preparing them for life as a therapy or service dog. This phase includes:
-
Task-specific training
-
Public access preparation
-
Personalized pairing with their hero
(a veteran or first responder in need of a life-changing partner)
Step 3: Transformation Through Purpose
Each dog’s transformation is rooted in purpose, compassion, and the belief that both lives — canine and human — deserve a second chance.
